February 08 Wealth Toolbox - The Mystery Continues! Many people have speculated about a somewhat strange phenomenon called Wealth Toolbox. It is strange because, unlike most online earning sites, it claims NOT to want your money! Instead it has offered to deposit amounts varying from $5 to $50 in an 'account' and to just sit there and 'watch it grow' over time. It has said that one will be paid the final amount 2 years after you opened the account. Apart from the unbelievable story that someone is actually going to GIVE you money for nothing (Riiiight! My other leg makes a pleasing tinkling sound when pulled!), there are some other oddities about the site which make most people come away with a puzzled frown (or knowing smile, depending on their attitude to free lunches). 1. Their Privacy policy is probably about the shortest on record: WEALTHTOOLBOX PRIVACY POLICY STATEMENTWe respect your right to privacy and do not rent, share, sell, trade or otherwise make your information available to any third party. The only exception to this is in the case of a government-issued court order or similar situation. We keep a record of your email address. This is used to contact you with service notices, announcements and messages. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may opt-out at any time. We may maintain a record of who you refer to our service in order to reward you. It should also be noted that logging into your account was, until recently, very basic, in that it simply required you to enter your email address - no password was required or even suggested (so if one knew the email address of any member, it was possible to check their balance, too). Moreover, when there was a referral system - information about that has disappeared recently - it was possible to see the email address of the person who referred you (and thus to check their account and see who referred them, and so on). 3. All the indications suggest that the way it is making money is by Forex trading and every now and again one gets an email to say that one's account has increased by some percentage but the information is so vague and inconclusive that one wonders if the figures are not simply made up. For the last week or so the site was advertising the trial of a new application called HiveAttack. This purported to be using some of the spare processing power of members' computers in order to do some sophisticated processing and dealing. Today, however, members have received an email to say that HiveAttack needs a lot more work - was losing money, in fact - and has been pulled! All 'user accounts' are on hold because there was a '90% decline in value whilst HiveAttack was running'. Well, that's OK, I guess, because it wasn't our money anyway! The most recent venture, it seems, is a Training Course. Here is the welcome email: Hello Andrew, That email has two interesting bits of information in it:Welcome to the WealthToolbox Training Group. Hi. I'm Jason Steele. My goal is to teach you how to earn a living--or at least give your income a healthy boost--using nothing more than your brain, a computer and the Internet. Just the fact that you're reading this right now proves that you have the "3 basic elements" mentioned above. Sure, it may sound a bit scary if you've never earned a single dollar, euro, quid or whatever on the Internet. That's where I come in...I have. In fact, in the past year, I've earned well over $100,000 using nothing more than those 3 elements--brain, computer and Internet. ~~~ sidenote ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ If you're a skeptic, don't worry. You'll get plenty of proof along the way. I tend to be a skeptic myself and understand your thinking. Bottom line? I won't expect you to believe a word I say. You'll have plenty of chances to see for yourself that it works. ~~~ end sidenote ~~~~~~~~~~ Fortunately, there are many ways to earn a fabulous living online. For now, we're going to focus on the foreign exchange market... also known as "forex". ----- So, why forex? Several reasons. - It's the biggest financial market in the world. (Over $3 trillion changes hands every day) - You can start with as little as $1. - You have no customers to deal with. - You have no products to produce or ship. - You can make trades 24 hours a day 5 days a week. - You can work from anywhere. - You only need a computer and Internet access (and a brain). - You can practice with a demo account until you're ready to use real money. - You can make a killing if you know what you're doing. I'm prepared to give you a lot of valuable information and act as your guide. It's okay if you've never invested in your life. It's my job to break it down into clean, simple lessons. Before you know it, you'll be a real investor. Exciting huh? What will this training cost? Financially...nothing. That's right. I'm ready to provide a foundation of learning that can potentially change your outlook on life (not to mention your bank account balance) forever. Best of all, you're invited to participate with no expectation of payment. ----- [This is the part where you decide whether to stay on board] What do I ask in return? I ask for your commitment to *your own* success. Seriously. That's it. Now, what I'm about to do could be considered marketing suicide. It breaks every unwritten rule of marketing, because I'll probably lose a lot of subscribers with what I am about to say. Here it is... Please unsubscribe from this newsletter right now if you're going to sit around dreaming about "some day". If that's the type of person you are, then having you on board will only slow down the group and waste everyone's time. The fact is, you're either with us, or you're not. If you're with us, I expect you to take action. For your own sake. By staying with the Training Group, you are making a commitment to practice the things I teach and prove to yourself that they really work. If you don't take action...then really...why are you here? --- If you don't agree to the above terms, please use the unsubscribe link at the bottom of this email. --- However, if you do agree to the terms...welcome to the WealthToolbox Training Group. You can now check the website for the current lessons. Here's how to get them... http://www.wealthtoolbox.com/lessons/ ---------- 233 Middleton rd, Glenside, Wellington 6037, NZ 233 Middleton rd, Glenside, Wellington 6037, NZ and the name of the author - Jason Steele Google tells me that that address belongs to a company called Private Box who are a mail forwarding company in New Zealand who will allow you to read your postal mail online from anywhere in the world (they scan it so you can access it electronically). Actually, the site also shows that the address given above is invalid - it should include a Suite # to be of any value at all. The name may be genuine but, on the other hand, it could be a pen name. A very wide variety of people called Jason Steele appears when one searches - everything from a somewhat suspect Republican candidate to a Jazz guitarist, with an architect, a graphic designer, a football player and an actor in between! So are we we any nearer to discovering who runs Wealth Toolbox and what his credentials are? except that he claims to have made $100,000 in the past year by trading online. One thing I am fairly sure of is that he hasn't yet made any of that from Wealth Toolbox members! Watch this space! The saga and mystery of Wealth Toolbox will unfold here ... January 30 The Law of Attraction: 1 - IntroductionPerhaps you have never come across The Law of Attraction but I'm sure that, at some time in your life, someone has told you that 'the word "can't" doesn't exist' or that 'all you have to do is try'. One of the first books to advocate this principle was "The Power of Positive Thinking" by Norman Vincent Peale. Sales of that book reached record heights in the 1950's and, to date, it has sold well over 7 million copies. Since the book and the movie "The Secret" was released and promotion by Oprah Winfrey sent sales rocketing, many more people have become aware of the power of positive thinking and the Law of Attraction. You may or may not like Oprah but if Oprah says something is great, you can be sure that millions of people seem to think it is great, even if they haven't bothered to evaluate it for themselves. Now, don't misunderstand me. The Law of Attraction is very valid and, if you care to put in a little application, you can achieve astounding results. Although it works on our subconscious by retraining it to accept positive thought and to reject negative ideas, it requires some conscious effort at first to do so. In this series of articles I hope to lead you through this process and help you to consciously deny all those bad habits and thoughts in an effort to retrain your subconscious mind, which is even more powerful than your conscious mind. On the way I shall be introducing some tools and ideas that I have found helpful. Most of them are freely available - books and CDs can be found at your public library (though, as we shall see, the act of owning something is, in itself, a powerful incentive). I shall also talk about some techniques that are available on the Internet for free. I intend to publish these articles weekly, so that you can follow along with them and I encourage you to use the comments section or, if you prefer, to email me with your comments, stories and suggestions. I shall do my best to reply to your mails because feedback is very important and the sharing of ideas is valuable to everyone! You can, if you wish, set up an RSS feed to these articles. This will mean that, every time I publish a new article, you will be automatically reminded either on your home page (if it supports RSS feeds) or in a browser toolbar or a separate application. RSS feeds are very easy to set up. If you use My Yahoo! or iGoogle as your home page, you can add a feed to the category 'Law of Attraction' which you see at the top right of the page. Notice that it has a little orange icon next to it. You can either click it to add the feed to your Feeds in Internet Explorer or you can right click the orange icon and select 'Copy Link Location' (in Firefox) or 'Copy Shortcut' (in Internet Explorer) in order to paste it into any RSS feed application in Yahoo, Google or anywhere else that accepts RSS feeds. If you have a web page, you can paste it there, if you wish! If you do so, please let me know so that I can, perhaps, cross-link to your site. April 06 Do you have a story to tell?Everybody has a story to tell of some kind. It may be your life history
or what happened while you were shopping last Thursday; the time you
saw a rainbow or watched a sunset; that TV program that your friend
absolutely must watch or how your team got the winning goal. It may
even be an idea for a short story or a novel or poem. Also, everybody loves to hear a story. You may think that what you did at the weekend was not a lot and that others would be bored by it. Take some time to read other people's stories. Yahoo 360 or Blogger or MySpace is often a good place to find them. Make a mental note of the ones that hold your attention. Very often they are quite ordinary, everyday events but they happened to someone else and, often, because you can relate to their lives, it helps to reassure you that others have the same problems and joys as you. What you have to say could be just as valuable to someone else! Very often it seems easy enough to tell it to someone else while we are talking to them but when we are faced with a blank screen or piece of paper, our mind goes blank! Why? Somehow many of us feel that what we say and what we write have to be different. It's almost as if we have two languages! The other difficulty is that we may know what we want to say but the ideas come out so fast that by the time we have written the first down, the others are forgotten! Never mind! You DO have a story and other people want to hear it, so get it down somehow and worry about whether it's readable or not later! This is part of what the “Writer’s Café” at Advise Or Answers will be about: a place where you can bring whatever you want to write about and receive encouragement and help in making it something that is a compelling read. March 26 Advice or Answers?Do you love to ask questions, give advice and share information … and make new friends while doing so? There are many sites which specialise in this, including Yahoo Answers, MyLot and Duno. The above mentioned are basically Question and Answer sites. There is little opportunity for discussion (though one can make limited comments and one can send private messages to clarify or discuss things individually). I would like to introduce you to a different concept – that of a forum rather than a Question & Answer site; a place where one is able to have a discussion on a topic as well as giving information which the community may find interesting. It isn’t by any means a new idea – there have been others of a similar nature, such as Javahive – but the founders of “Advise or Answers” would like to think that we have brought together the strong points of these sites and have learnt lessons from their failings as well. As a new site, from April 1st 2007, Advise or Answers will be starting a Profit Sharing scheme which will be fairer, more honest and, we hope, more lucrative than many other 'paid-to-post' sites. Once members have made a certain number of posts, they will qualify to receive points based on the number of posts they have made. At the end of each month, the profits that the site has made from its advertising and other revenues will be calculated and a price per point will be calculated. This will probably vary from month to month. The founders have all experienced disappointments with other sites in various ways and are seriously committed to making a site which is fair and open with its members and will grow steadily to be a fine and reliable source of information and discussion on nearly anything under the sun – and will, incidentally give you some reward for contributing. I am inviting you, therefore, as someone who I know loves a discussion and already knows the benefits of belonging to a site like this, to join me on “Advise or Answers” and to give it a try. Please use this link to join. It tells the system that I recommended you and it helps us keep track of the way that members found out about us and joined |
